GoodFellaz
a.k.a Bdub and Mista Tee are a Montreal based Hip-Hop band which came to life in 2006.
Of course, band members Bdub and Mista Tee were influenced by world renowned mob flick but the name GoodFellaz was chosen in order to express what type of guys they really are.
While both were part of SME, they eventually decided it would be a better fit for them to act as a duo, hence the GoodFellaz. After winning the Mic Check Contest in 2005 and successfully releasing two editions of the “Take it or leave it” mixtapes including joints such as “Open your eyes (ft. Koriass)” that had acclaimed succes in the underground, the group felt it was time to step up their game. In 2006, SME Productions joined forces with Bounce2this music in order to release the Suburban Crack Mixtape including the 1st single from the GoodFellaz acting as a duo that had incredible succes on the internet reaching more than 10 000 downloads. Since, the group has been hard at work and are preparing their debut album entitled “New School” which is set to be released some time 2008.
Their early days consisted more of raw and conscious lyrics but when producer Mista Tee finally bought his Korg Triton, the Fellaz sold their backpacks for Pro Tools with Autotune and started to work on an electro/dance fusion combined with” gangsta” rap they now refer to as “Hip Pop”. Although they mainly ride commercial melodies, the boys still deliver sharp lyricism through complex rhyme schemes.
To give the fans a treat during the waiting process, in May 2008, the rap and r&b duo released their first official project, CFGM Group presents the street album “Candy Flavoured Gangsta Music”. Although most production is handled by Mista Tee, Ruffneck and Buzzy Bwoy are also contributers. The opus contains mostly featurings from the crew and some interesting posse cuts yet to be heard. For the fans, this album is a must and should without any doubt help in the waiting process for the release of New School. GoodFellaz Baby!
